Spokes rides
Romney Marsh
Sunday 28 April Meet at Hythe Light Railway station, 10.30 The next Spokes ride will start from outside of the Hythe Light Railway station in Scanlons Bridge Road, Hythe, CT21 6LD, at 10.30 on Sunday 28 April. It will consist of an easy ride out along NCR2 to Romney Marsh for a circuit around usually quiet lanes, probably 20 or so miles and flat. The exact route will be decided on the day, based on the wind direction, the riders‘ experience and their wishes. We will probably break for light refreshment at Unit One in West Hythe. Leader: Paul Rees, paulrrees@gmail.com or 07858 517080. It helps if riders can let the leader know if they hope to join in. Any updates will be posted on Facebook. Further Spokes rides are planned for Sunday 12 May and Saturday 6 July. Assuming trains are running, the May ride will be from Whitstable Station to Margate, about 20 miles with a return journey by train. If trains aren't running then the ride will be from Whitstable to Reculver along the coast and back on roads. The July ride will start at Minster (Thanet) at 9.45. It will be about 20 miles probably involving a visit to Sandwich. Further details of the rides will be added to Facebook, our website and included in forthcoming issues of Update. Sales From time to time, Spokes members have bikes and other cycling bits and pieces to sell or giveaway. These are listed on the website Sales page. Items for sale/giveaway at the moment are:
